Mumbai: The players' auction list for the Indian Premier League 2022 has been released. A total of 590 players will be bidding. This time the IPL auction will run for two days. The players' auction will be held in Bengaluru on February 12 and 13. This will be the 15th season of IPL and many big stars of the cricket world will participate in this important tournament.
Sir 1217 players had registered their names, 590 have been shortlisted. Out of that 228 are capped players and 355 are uncapped players. Seven players also belong to associate countries.
Many big names from India like- Shreyas Iyer, Shikhar Dhawan, R. Ashwin, Mohammed Shami, Ishan Kishan, Ajinkya Rahane, Suresh Raina, Yuzvendra Chahal, Washington Sundar, Shardul Thakur, Deepak Chahar, Ishant Sharma, Umesh Yadav etc. will take part in this auction.
A total of 10 franchise teams – Chennai Super Kings, Delhi Capitals, Mumbai Indians, Kolkata Knight Riders, Punjab Kings, Rajasthan Royals, Royal Challengers Bangalore, Sunrisers Hyderabad, Lucknow Super Giants and Ahmedabad team will be involved in this. Along with this, big names of the cricket world like Faf du Plessis, David Warner, Pat Cummins, Kagiso Rabada, Trent Boult, Quinton de Kock, Jonny Bairstow, Jason Holder, Dwayne Bravo, Shakib Al Hasan, Wanindu Hasaranga will also be involved.
Rs 2 crore is the highest reserve price and a total of 48 players have placed themselves in this bracket. And 20 players are in the Rs 1.5 crore bracket. 34 players are in the reserve price of Rs 1 crore.
Australia has the highest 47 names among foreign players. There are 34 players from West Indies and 33 from South Africa. The Associate Countries have three players from Namibia, two from Scotland and one from Nepal.
A team can have a maximum of 25 players, with the maximum number of foreign players being 8. 10 teams have retained or drafted 33 players i.e. a maximum of 217 players can be sold in the auction. Kolkata has two and Punjab has kept one foreign player with them before the auction, all other teams have 1-1 player. A maximum of 70 foreign players can be bought by the franchise in the auction. Punjab Kings purse has the highest 72 and Delhi's purse has the lowest amount of Rs 47.5 crore. The total purse value of a franchise is Rs 90 crore.
