The film is being directed by award winning director Sumit Mishra.
Sharing his experience of working with Tara Alisha Berry and Rahul Bagga, he says that after living the character of any story, it is difficult to choose the right actor and actress but when you have a mature actor like Rahul Bagga with you. And if you have a simple and settled actress like Tara Alisha Berry, then it becomes easy to bring the story to the screen. This was my first feature film as a director, but the collaboration of Rahul and Tara and the ability to quickly adapt to the character made filming for Agam easy for me.
This film is going to show a lot to the audience. The people associated with this film are very optimistic about this film. Talking about this film, he says that Banaras is the city of Spirituality, Shiva, Shava and Tantra. The city of death in life and the mystery of life in death, the land of the great cremation ground, Banaras, the center of the philosophy of the origin of Shiva from the union of shakti in the dead body and corpse when the female power from Shiva vanished. Since I have studied in Banaras and has always been my favorite city, therefore the view of Banaras and the mystery of Banaras have always attracted me to compose. During the university days, the characters and subjects scattered in the ghats and streets kept getting tangled in the mind and that warp later took the form of the plot of Agama. 'Agam' is the story of life journey, spiritual journey and tantra journey of different colors and different ragas in the background of Banaras.
Sumit has made many great short films
Describing the meaning of Agam, it has been said that the meaning of Agam itself is a difficult path and it is true that the film Agam is a journey to discover the secrets of the streets of Banaras. The journey of finding the shape of life in the flames of the crematorium is my journey, the journey of flowing against the flow in the river and this journey is of many decades. I have shared my same Agama journey in this film.
Sharing his experience of shooting in Varanasi, the director says, "I am very familiar with myself so shooting in Banaras is very comfortable for me. We shot with a small unit but the atmosphere on the sets was very creative and cooperative. The shooting of our film was completed without any stress in a very healthy and positive environment."
It has been appreciated in many film festivals.
Sharing his thoughts on the film's theatrical release option in the event of a pandemic, Sumit Mishra says, "After the production of the film, my producer and I decided to first send it to film festivals across the world and then The film festival journey of 'Agam' has started. The film was selected and appreciated in many international film festivals, the most important of which was the Cairo International Film Festival. At the end of the journey of the film festival, we started battling the epidemic of covid, which had a bad effect on the cinema hall. Now that the situation seems to be getting a little normal, then we felt that without delay, we should screen the film in whatever cinema hall is available in our radius.
